Two Weeks That Changed My Life
With Lots Of Pictures To Prove It

RUPTHI MATHEW and I journeyed to Jerusalem in January to tie the knot. The bride arrived with a dozen suitcases (and took two days to clear customs). All I needed was a marriage certificate and my Nikon.

The ceremony took place in the Old City, overlooking the Western Wall, which was quite meaningful for us both. We celebrated with friends and family from the United States and India with a lavish dinner (and oceans of kosher wine) later that week at the legendary King David Hotel.

The highlight of this two-week occasion was a private honeymoon trek we made that took us from the desert to the coastline. We started at the historic site of Masada, where an ill-fated band of Jewish resistance fighters pitched a last-stand battle against a Roman legion.

We then traveled to the coastal city of Haifa where we marveled at the Baha’i Gardens. We went further north, arriving in Acre where we visited St. John’s Church. We continued up the highway, all the way to Rosh HaNikra, the northernmost part of the Mediterranean coast. Here we took a cable car to the grottos and explored the cavernous tunnels. As we reached the northern limit, we turned around and headed to the Negev.

After two hectic but thrilling weeks In Israel, we returned to the States with tons of pictures and memories that will last a lifetime…until our next journey.
