Journey To Southern India
SPENT a day in the colorful city of Kanyakumari (Cape Comorin). This city is in the state of Tamil Nadu at the southernmost tip of mainland India. It’s an area of trade and commerce and a popular objective for tourists.
Swami Vivekananda was an Indian Hindu monk and chief disciple of the 19th century saint Ramakrishna. The offshore rock where Vivekananda meditated on December 25-27, 1892, is an important destination for pilgrims.
The massive statue on the next island depicts the Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar. It took 5,000 sculptors to erect it in 2000.
