Mayor Cited For Helping Build Life Without Lupus
AYOR Michael Bloomberg was
honored at the S.L.E. Lupus Foundation and the Lupus Research
Institute dinner in November. About 700 guests raised $2 million
at the event held at the American Museum of Natural History.
Foundation president Richard
DeScherer said, "Over 12 years Mayor Bloomberg has led a
remarkable agenda to improve the health of all New Yorkers,
creating innovative public health models now adopted throughout
the nation."
NBC’s Today show co-host
Willie Geist served as master of ceremonies and Lincoln
Center artistic director of jazz Wynton Marsalis
entertained on trumpet.
Founder Susan Golick presented an
award to gala honorees Simona and Jerome Chazen.
Gala 2013 dinner chairs were Louise
and Sid Banon, Mary E. Belle, David Chazen,
Kathy Chazen and Larry Miller Jennie and
Richard DeScherer, and Susan Golick and Alan
Wasserman.
New York luminaries supporting the
