Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's 17th Anniversary Preview Party for
the International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show at the Park
Avenue Armory was a rousing success, raising over $900,000.
The spectacular night was underwritten by Bill
Blass, represented by CEO Michael Groveman and artistic
director Michael Vollbracht, and Graff, represented by CEO Henri
Barguirdjian.
Co-chair Lavinia Snyder was resplendent in an espresso and
chocolate dot embroidered jacket, co-chair Susan Bodnar
sparkled in a copper multi feather trim jacket and dress, junior
chair Eugenie Niven chose a pumpkin and copper taffeta
brocade jacket with jeweled cuffs over a bronze dress, associate's
chair Alexis Waller looked perfect in a silk crepe ribbon
trimmed dress, and the Society's president, Vera Safai,
wore a copper and black lacquered brocade evening suit.
Earlier in the month, there had been a wonderful kick-off in the
Fifth Avenue apartment of Robyn and Kenneth Joseph.
The connoisseur chairmen were Pat Buckley and James
Niven. The honorary chairmen were Jessie Araskog, Muffie
Potter Aston, Susan Burke, Virginia Burke, Mary
Carpenter, Mary Davidson, Barbara Gimbel, Joanne
de Guardiola in a fur jacket by Carolina Herrera, Jamee
Gregory in a white jumper with black trim, Leslie Jones,
Julia and David Koch, Evelyn Lauder, Karen
LeFrak, Nicole Limbocker, Carroll Petrie, Betty
Sherrill, Daisy Soros and Blaine Trump.
The Juniors hosted a buffet dinner at Doubles where Mallory and
Roy Kean, Melissa Berkelhammer, Mark Giordano,
Eliza Nordeman, Alexandra and Steven Mandis, Mary
and Michael Darling, Victoria Ashley, Alexandra
Lind and Louis Rose, Denise DeLuca, Katie and
John Colgate, Lisa and Robert Errico, Minnie
Mortimer, Olivia Striffler, Alan Lawrence and Nancy
Sambuco partied into the night.
