IGGIE
and Mark Bitter opened the doors of their luxurious new
tri-level Scalamandre showroom for a Champagne Veuve Clicquot-fueled
kickoff for the 13th annual Associates Committee of the Society of
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Bunny Hop.
Bunny
Hop chairs Leslie Coleman, Mary Darling and Leslie
Heaney told guests, including Joanne de Guardiola, Susan
Bodnar, Clelia Zacharias, Chesie Breen, Sallie
Giordano, Tracy and Jay Snyder, Mia Matheson,
Ines Bausili, Pat Carey, Ashley Potter, Gwen
Thayer, Paulette Smyth, Marilyn White,
and their husbands Andrew Heaney, Michael Darling
and Kevin Coleman, about how they combed the city
frantically looking for a replacement venue after FAO Schwarz,
site of the previous 12 Bunny Hops, shut its doors in January
after a well publicized bankruptcy.
The
Children’s Museum on the West Side and Toys “R” Us in Times
Square were possibilities, but they could not resist the hot
American Girl Place, Fifth Avenue and 49th Street, which opened
last November.
