and the living is easy unless you were hosting any of the
following gorgeous evenings, and if you were, thank you!
Jamee Gregory, Leslie
Jones and Henri Barguirdjian hosted a Champagne Veuve
Clicquot cocktail party in honor of the Society of Memorial
Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's 15th anniversary preview party for
the International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show, surrounded by
millions of dollars worth of yellow diamonds at Graff Jewelers, on
Madison Avenue.
Among the committee
members working to make the October 16 benefit a smash were Pat
Buckley, Coco Kopelman, Muffie Potter Aston, Hilary Califano, Melanie Seymour
Holland, Jackie Weld, Tory Burch, Jennifer Creel, Mary Davidson,
Junior Chair Hilary Dick, Somers Farkas, Pamela Fiori, Felicia
Taylor, and Bettina Zilkha.
There were men
too including Jamie Niven, Rand Araskog, Peter Gregory,
R. Couri Hay, Peter
Jones, Tom Guinzberg, Marvin Davidson, Jeffrey Hirsch, and

Funding For Dean
NTERIOR
designer Mark Epstein threw a little fund raiser for Gov. Howard
Dean of Vermont, one of the contenders for the Democratic
candidacy for President in his elegant home in the Hamptons.
Guests included
Sotheby’s VP Royce Pinkwater, style writer Michele
Gerber Klein, Jill and Bobby Zarin, designer Steven
Stolman, crack journalists Courtney Callahan and Corey
Kilgannon, Christian
McPherson and Linda Mansfield.
Dean spoke privately
among the main contributors and answered questions regarding both
his conservative views on the economy, gun control and the death
penalty, as well as his liberal views on civil unions for gays and
lesbians, the environment, national healthcare and national
security. |

DÉCOR and Diffa had a party where designer Richard Mishaan
made it fun with a
summer theme inspired by Charlie’s
Angels. Each guest at his table, including Patrick McMullan,
Donald Baechler, Leslie Klots, Bill Smith, and Michael Morelli,
received a bottle of sex wax. Surf’s up!

Polo Challenge
HE
Ninth Annual Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge opened at the
Bridgehampton Polo Club with a benefit for The Retreat. More than
$30,000 was raised for an organization that provides shelter and
support for victims of domestic violence and educates the
community about the issue.
Kim Cattrall and
Dr. Howard Sobel, whose Skin & Spa Cosmetic Surgical
Center is one of the event’s sponsors, presented trophies to the
winners.
Among those enjoying the
sport were Billy Joel, Peter Boyle, Sharon, Lauren, Ashely
and Pierce Bush, Jason Grant, Russell Simmons, Angela Basset,
Alexandra Wentworth, Star Jones, Cathy Moriarty, Kelly Posner,
Francesco Scavullo, Sylvia Miles, Nina Griscom, Helen
Schifter, and Amanda Hearst. |

The Night Away

Parrish Art Museum held its midsummer gala in an air-conditioned
tent in the arboretum made fantastic with music by the Steven
Scott Orchestra, lighting by Bentley Meeker and décor by Antony
Todd.
The co-chairs were Anne
Hearst, Patty Raynes, Marcia and Richard Mishaan. The
Honorary co-chairs were Debbie Bancroft, Beth Rudin DeWoody
and Katharina Otto-Bernstein.
More than 1,000 guests
partied the night away, including Carroll Petrie, Mark Badgley,
James Mischka, Roberto and Joanne de Guardiola, Jonathan
and Somers Farkas, Larry and Michelle Herbert, Barbara
K, Vera Wang, Nicole
Miller, Royce Pinkwater, Marissa Bregman, Jan Cowles and indie
film director Austin Stark. |

& GARDEN’S editor-in-chief Dominique Browning
hosted a cocktail party at the Hampton Designer Showhouse in
Southampton. Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs delighted guests with
delicious saffron rock lobster medallions, grilled artichoke,
savory cheese cakes with sturgeon caviar, seared beef tenderloin,
and Vegetable Samosas.
There was a private tour
of the1920s mansion displaying the creations of some of today’s
foremost designers, including Tony Ingrao, Alexa Hampton,
Jackson Siegel Aaron, Scott Sanders, Eric Cohler, and Laura
Hunt and a celebrity auction benefiting The Southampton
Hospital.
Designer Lisa Jackson
gave a dinner at her dramatic First Neck Lane home for such guests
as Stephen Siegel, Catherine Aaron, House & Garden's
Cynthia Frank and Jay McInerney with his
fiancee Jeanine Pepler. |

EAMAN
SCHEPPS, the renown jewelers whose clients have included the
Roosevelts, the Duke
and Duchess of Windsor, the Rockefellers, the Duponts,
Marlene Dietrich, the
British royal family and Andy Warhol, held a luncheon at
the prestigious
private Southampton Meadow Club
to announce the opening of their temporary
store in the Southampton Hospital thrift shop on the town’s Main
Street.
Devouring the scrumptious
food served on cheerful blue and white table cloths, donated
by Steven Stolman, were Dina Merrill, Mai Harrison,
Kathy Hilton, Jessie
Araskog, Perri Peltz, Alex Kramer,
Pamela Gross, Jean Remmell Little, Coleen Caslin, Jay
