NIEPORENT was in the spotlight when he brought five chefs from
his Myriad Restaurant Group to cook up a five-course feast at the
third annual Flavors of New York Culinary Gala at The Pierre.
“Drew
is Mr. Perfection himself,” gourmand Bill Boggs marveled.
“If
you want to find flaws,” Nieporent replied, “ask my wife.”
Indeed
it was a perfect dinner, with varied courses created by chefs Edwyn
Ferrari of Nobu, Chris Gesualdi of Montrachet, Stephen
Lewandowski of Tribeca Grill, Frank Proto of Layla and Stephane
Motir of TriBakery.
The
evening’s corporate honoree was Dr. Martine J. George,
vice president of clinical affairs at Ortho Biotech Products in
recognition of their biomedical research and drug development.
Carl
Deddens, president of the Greater New York chapter of the
American Liver Foundation, announced that the event raised more
than $400,000 for the treatment and cure of hepatitis and other
liver diseases. |
