ILLIAM O. HILTZ, board chairman of New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital, thanked more than 900 guests at the Waldorf-Astoria and saluted the Autumn Ball vice chairs Deborah and Allen Grubman, Pat and Ed Gutman, and Drs. Virgie and Marty Ellington who helped raise $2.2 million dollars, an outstanding feat in our “new” economy.

Guests included Lizzie Grubman and Chris Stern, Ellen and Daniel Crown, Dawn Robinson and Dre Allen, Dori Cooperman, Beth Shak, Jennifer Bruder and Ted Lavin, Bunny and Jay Weinrib, K.T. Sullivan and Steve Downey, Dr. Howard and Gayle Sobel, Kay and John McEnroe, Sr.

All were gathered to salute Dr. Armando Grassi, chairman emeritus, department of neonatology and pediatrics, for his 30 years service to Lenox Hill Hospital’s most precious patients.

Gladys George, president and CEO of the hospital, said that in this health care reform debate, “one thing will remain constant. People will continue to value and seek out high quality health care provided by outstanding physicians in a caring, supportive environment.”
