ITH the Sherlock Holmes
movie playing across the country, Israel’s consul general in New
York, Asaf Shariv, related a tale about the famous sleuth. Holmes
and his sidekick, Dr. Watson, went on a camping trip. They woke up
in the middle of the night.
"Dr. Watson, what do you?"
"Stars, millions of stars."
"What does that tell you?"
"That God is omnipresent. His majesty
is everywhere. What does that tell you, Mr. Holmes?"
"It tells me that someone has stolen
our tent!"
That cracked up all the insurance
people who came to an Israel Bonds luncheon at the St. Regis in
Manhattan where they honored two of their own: Pennsylvania insurance
commissioner Joel Ario and veteran New York insurance lawyer and
arbitrator Donald T. DeCarlo.
