He hit FAO Schwarz on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue where Lilly Pulitzer lavishly sponsored the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Associates Committee's 17th Annual Bunny Hop. I say "lavishly" because not only did Pulitzer provide the funding, but also dressed co-chairs Christina Addison, Lisa Errico and Elizabeth Fuller and their families. A whopping $350,000 was raised to benefit Clown Care at The Center's Department of Pediatrics. There were 1,000 guests, including Lilly Pulitzer's president Jim Bradbeer with his wife Carol and son Tom; the Society's president Leslie Jones; he Associates' president Christina Smith and last year's honorary chair Melania Trump with Donald Trump and son Barron, who turned two on March 20. It was a laugh riot encouraged by the presence of Winnie the Pooh, Corduroy (played by Teddy Planitzer), Harry Potter, and the Doctors of Humorology from the Clown Care program that brings artists from the circus to visit sick children in hospitals across the country. Four times a week, specially trained clowns visit MSKCC and bring immeasurable delight to inpatient and outpatient pediatric units. Mile-wide smiles were seen on Celeste Boele, Annabelle Fowlkes, Lynn Morris and Maria Villalba. As well as Muffie Potter Aston with her pretty twins Bracie and Ashleigh; Alexandra and Ellie Lebenthal; Michelle Marie, Jon and Hudson Heinemann; Catherine Carey with sons Paul and Bryan; Samantha Boardman and wee Alexander Rosen; Barbara, Kevin, Madeline and Hugh McLaughlin; Pamela Gross and Alexander Finkelstein; Shoshanna, Josh and Sienna Gruss. Also Claudia, Taylor and Gunnar Overstrom; Lara and Katarina Forstmann; Nancy, Caroline and Sloane Sambuco; Ricardo, Amy and Oliver Garcia; Ruth Fleischmann; and former Bunny Hop chairs Leslie Coleman with Kevin, Win, Stuyvie and Avery Coleman, and Leslie Heaney with Andrew and bubbly Emmeline Heaney. A few days later, Pete hopped down the block to Doubles for the annual Peter Cotton Tail Egg Hunt staged by Wendy Carduner. There were balloons, brightly colored straw baskets, stuffed animals and giant-size bunnies and ducks. The Doubles Village Quad had been readied for the hunt with a white picket fence border and pastel egg covered lawn. Among the most enthusiastic seekers were two-year-old Aster Lee Lufkin, with parents Dan and Cynthia Lufkin and sister Schuyler Hazard; Tripp Ward with his mom Kristina Stewart and four-month-old brother Garret Ward; Will and Cornelia Wedding; Alexander, Phillip and Amelia Raftopoulos; Rebecca Kurtis and GiGi Winnakor. |
