ETE DE SWIFTY was more fun than ever this year, thanks to the ingenuity and hard work of co-chairs Gillian Miniter and Liz Finkle Eliot. It was a happy reunion of friends and "family" who hadn't seen each other all summer. Under the block-long white tent on Manhattan’s East Side gossip maven Liz Smith introduced Mayor Michael Bloomberg who stayed schmoozing for over an hour with his ladylove Diana Taylor. The event was successful on all counts, raising a whopping $750,000 for the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City.
Among the several hundred New Yorkers enjoying the fun were Tobie Roosevelt, Wendy Vanderbilt, Wendy Carduner, David and Helen Gurley Brown, Sam and Judy Peabody, decorator Joel Allen, Cynthia and Dan Lufkin, Elizabeth Fondaras, Eleanora and Michael Kennedy, Lionel Larner, Nancy Baker, Deborah Norville and Karl Wellner, Ana Soler, Donald and Barbara Tober, Michel Witmer, Jill Fairchild Melhado, Brian Stewart and Stephanie Krieger, Cece Cord, Sabrina and Carl Forsythe, Elaine Sargent, Swifty's Blaine and Robert Caravaggi.
