ORE than 1,100 guests attended the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's 18th anniversary preview of the Haughton International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show at the Park Avenue Armory.

The crème de la crème of New York society were dazzled by almost a billion dollars worth of the finest art and antiques presented by 65 dealers from three continents. The event helped the Society raise over $850,000 to promote the well-being of patients, support cancer research and provide public education on the prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer.

The spectacular night was underwritten by Janna Bullock, a real estate developer known for restoring landmark buildings, and shoe designer Dr. Taryn Rose.

They joined the receiving line with Society president Vera Safai, event co-chairs Joanne de Guardiola and Susan Malloy, Junior chair Eugenie Niven and Jamie Niven, who represented the Connoisseur chairmanship that included Pat Buckley and Blaine Trump.

The Haughton Fair featured the Cartier diamond rose pendant that Princess Margaret wore to her sister Queen Elizabeth II's coronation, a Fabergé 10th anniversary frame given by Russia's Grand Duke Michael to his wife Sophie von Merenberg, and a collection of Sir Cecil Beaton's private books and diaries including notes from Greta Garbo and a drawing the famous photographer made of the reclusive star's eyes.

Among those doing some serious shopping were real estate tycoons Donald Trump with his wife Melania, and Sheldon Solow with his wife Mia, Howard Stern and Beth Ostrosky, Martha Stewart and her daughter Alexis Stewart, Julia and David Koch, Queer Eye's Thom Filicia, Lydia Hearst, Anne Hearst and Jay McInerney, MSNBC anchor Rita Cosby, Muffie Potter and Dr. Sherrell Aston, Hilary Ross, Christine and Stephen Schwarzman, Leslie and Caroline Perkin, Mary and Marvin Davidson.

Also Jamee and Peter Gregory, Audrey Gruss, Sharon Bush, Grace and Chris Meigher, Elaine Sargent, Tara and Michael Rockefeller, Alexandra Lind and Marshall Rose, Roberto de Guardiola, Emilia and Pepe Fanjul, Audrey Gruss, Wendy Vanderbilt, John Loring, Bonnie Pfeiffer and Charles Evans, Wendy Carduner, Jacques Leviant, Pamela Fiori, Michelle and Larry Herbert, Amy Fine Collins, artist Michelle Marie and Jon L. Heinemann, Hamish Bowles, Frances Hayward, Michèle Gerber and Jeffrey Klein, Cynthia and Dan Lufkin, Somers Farkas, Jessie and Rand Araskog, Evelyn Lauder, Daisy Soros, Gillian Miniter, Andrea Stark, Iris Apfel, Stephanie Krieger, Jennifer Creel, Barbara and Donald Tober, House and Garden's Dominique Browning and Cynthia Frank, fashion designers Francicso Costa, Brian Reyes, Adria de Haume, Anait Bian, and New York Social Diary's David Patrick Columbia, Jeffrey Hirsch and Sian Ballen.

The real estate marketing field was represented by Dennis Karr with his wife Gail, Patricia Patterson and Patricia Burnham.

Kudos to the shows legendary impresarios Anna and Brian Haughton, and special thanks to the hardworking Society staff including executive director Melissa Grundman, special events manager Olivia Striffler, Leigh Brawer and Kelsey Banfield.
