HUCK
and Ellen Scarborough along with Kristen and Richard
Thompson co-chaired the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons
annual Chow Chow Bow Wow benefit at their residence in
Southampton, raising more that $250,000 for the no-kill
shelter.
The NBC anchorman and his wife welcomed over 300 guests who came
to honor Lisa and Brian McCarthy's adopted Chow
Katrina, a survivor of the New Orleans hurricane.
ARF supporters at the
party included Muriel Siebert, Sandra McConnell, Betty and Virgil
Sherrill, Katharina Otto Bernstein, Charlene and James
Nederlander, Whitney and James Fairchild, Anait Bian, Jason
Grant, Elaine Sargent, Ralph Destino Jr.,
Christopher Robbins, Plum TV host Alison Chace, Bentley
Meeker, and fashion designer Jackie Rogers who hosted
ARF's kickoff party and created signature dog collars to benefit
the worthy animal cause.
In a bow to the Chinese
year of the dog, Chick played the harmonica while his dog,
Oliver, howled in tune.
ARF board member Frances
Hayward and her rescued Shepherd Amigo presented
Katrina and the McCarthy family with the Ambassador of Good Will
Award.
In October 2005, Hayward
and a team of ARF volunteers brought back Katrina and dozens of
other animals left homeless by the hurricane to their shelter in
Wainscott.
