SoBRO Summer Ends With Morrow Poolside Party Story by Edward T. Callaghan Photos by John Wegorzewski ILLED as the last poolside party of the year, Phil and Ann Morrow’s sunset cocktail reception at the ultrahip Cain at Cabana in Southampton’s Capri Hotel for the honorees, committees and sponsors of the upcoming 33rd SoBRO Anniversary Gala was a most splendid way to end a perfect summer. Bright skies greeted the revelers with but a slight chill to remind us of fall’s coming. Morrow, president of the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation, and board chairman Jean Smith toasted friends and supporters amidst a tropical setting of white curtained cabanas at the Hamptons’ chicest beach club. Culinary wizards Frank Tramontano and Mary Spellman, who’ve served up sumptuous feasts at the season’s hottest parties, generously provided the savory treats from grilled shrimp to caviar-filled potatoes – all to be washed down with chilled wines from Icon Estates Vineyard and frosty martinis courtesy of ZYR Vodka. The annual gala, always one of the most fun fall parties will take place at the Copacabana on November 16. There will be cocktails, dinner and dancing to the sounds of the Bartlett Contemporaries.
