HE legacy of folksinger Woody Guthrie and his wife Marjorie was commemorated at the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s (HDSA) Eighth Annual Guthrie Awards Dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria. Nora Guthrie and her daughter Anna presented the Woody Guthrie Award to Peter, Paul and Mary.
Marjorie founded HDSA after her husband Woody lost his battle with Huntington’s disease in 1967.
Michael J. Fox presented an award to Jason Ritter, co-star of TV’s Joan of Arcadia.
Also honored were Robert Pearson and Novartis International AG, Christopher O’Brien, chief medical officer at Prestwick Pharmaceuticals, and C. Mack and JP Morgan Chase.
