ISA JACKSON, Alex Papachristidis and florist extraordinaire Bardin Palomo transformed the inside of splendid, large, peaked white tents, on the hospital grounds, into an enchanted garden, with brilliant pink light, acid green chinoisserie chandeliers, miniature orange trees and stunning flower arrangements for the 46th annual Southampton Hospital summer party.

Julia and David Koch served as honorary dinner chairmen, Barbara Glatt, there with her husband Alan Glatt, was chairman, and Cindy Willis and Sheila Fuchs were co-chairmen. Perri Peltz was Mistress of Ceremonies of the evening, which honored Jean Little FitzSimmons for her years of exceptional leadership.

The hospital was represented by CEO Annette Leahy, board chairman Peter Larsen, Foundation president James Ferrer, and many hard working staff members and volunteers.

More than 2,000 guest attended in their most colorful festive finery, including Congressman Tim Bishop; major supporters Diane and James Burke; Julia Wallace, in gown by Roberto Cavalli; Betty and Virgil Sherrill; Brendan and Eva Dillon, in cocoa Chiffon by Vera Wang; Marty Richards with Maria Theresa Fuaci; interior designer Mario Buatta, in a tangerine blazer by Ralph Lauren.

Also Karen and Richard LeFrak; Andrea Stark, in a Carolina Herrera gown that laced up the back; Actors Studio’s James Lipton with wife Kedakai; Wilbur Ross and Hilary Geary; former gala chairman Ann Grimm; beauties Debbie Bancroft in hot pink and Somers Farkas in green by Douglas Hannant; Jessie and Rand Araskog; Larry and Denise Wohl; and little boys in blue Noah and Ethan, with parents Perri and Eric Ruttenberg.

Laura and Harry Slatkin, Vera Wang and Arthur Becker, James and Whitney Fairchild, Mark Gilbertson and Lisa Selby, Julie and Edward Minskoff, Ophelia and William Rudin and Alison Mazzola were seen bidding at the silent auction for such items as tickets to the 2005 NY Yankees opening game and dinner with the team, a custom portrait by David Peikon, a $1,000 gift certificate to Steven Stolman’s fashionable shop on Southampton’s Main Street, or a handbag by Dennis Basso.

Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs prepared a delicious dinner. Dessert consisted of lemon mousse and white and dark chocolate garden baskets to the delight of the likes of Jill Stuart, Rosalie and Gary Brinton, Suzanne Hemming, Kay Gilman, Mireya and Joe D’Angelo, Royce Pinkwater and Palm Beach visitors Sherry Miller and Shannon Donnelly.

DJ Tom Finn turned the cocktail tent into a 1960s Mod Hip disco event, chaired by the associates committee, which included Paris and Nicky Hilton, Amanda Hearst, Emilia Fanjul and Brian Pfeifler, Oliver Hammond, Samantha Gregory, Harrison LeFrak, Tinsley Mortimer, Eugenie Niven, and Carlton DeWoody.

Best of all, over $1.4 million much needed funds was raised for the hospital’s Department of Emergency Medicine, the sole provider of emergency care from Westhampton Beach to Montauk Point , serving more than 25,000 people a year.

Making the evening possible were the sponsors, including Henry R. Kravis, Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg, Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook, Arlene and Alan Alda, Charlotte Ford, Donald Burns Foundation, Stanley and Fiona Druckenmiller, Felix Rohatyn, and corporations such as Renco Group, Tomorrow Foundation, Seaman Schepps, Estee Lauder Inc., Printery, and Zilkha Foundation.
