PRING was busting out all over at Doubles, the chic club at New York ’s Sherry Netherland Hotel. First they celebrated their 28th anniversary with a black-tie gala dubbed "Bubbles At Doubles."
The club’s guiding light, Wendy Carduner, filled the gorgeous space with more than 2800 fuchsia pink and metallic yellow balloons, each with organza ribbons trimmed in blush or amber satin.
Peter Duchin and his band played and champagne corks popped as such guests as Sharon Bush, Gerald Tsai, Tina Flaherty, Sandy and Michael Meehan, Ambassador Albert and Audrey del Rosario, John Punnett, Jane Gould, Charles Mirotznick, Jane and Joseph Pontarelli, and Arlene Dahl and Marc Rosen danced until the bewitching hour.
A night or two later came their Mai-Tai Madness Party, complete with tiki torches, Polynesian masks and palm trees swaying to island music.
Tropically attired guests including Eva and Brendan Dillon, Heather Sargent, Blakely and Trey Griggs, Betsy Pitts, Mimi Moulton, Wibbly Sevener, Sean and Tenley Black, Alexandra Scott, Andrea and Tom Donahue, Victoria and Robert Lindgren, Mark Gilbertson, Pia Murphy, Natalie Kaplan, Tatiana Papanicolaou, Jennifer Powers, Heather Lynch, Eric Javitz, Nancy Sambuco, and Mireya and Joseph D'Angelo donned Hawaiian leis, sipped exotic cocktails, and partied hardy
