Kip Forbes and Maggie Norris | Anna Kiladze | Dr. Kelly Posner | Jacqueline Anderson | HERMITAGE MUSEUM Russian Romance Of Maggie Norris Story by Roger Webster Photos by Gandalf Riecks/PMc AGGIE NORRIS, that haute American couture designer well known for dressing movie stars like Oscar winners Nicole Kidman, Sissy Spacek and Halle Berry, premiered her Fall 2003 collection on Manhattan’s upper east side. She chose the Grand Ballroom of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation because she was inspired by the opulence and romance of St. Petersburg at the time of Czar Nicholas and Czarina Alexandra. To that end, she accessorized her creations with Hermitage Furs by Russian designer Helen Yarmak, fantasy jewels by Harry Winston, and Russian Nights fragrance by Natalia Darialova, whose family, I hear, just about controls Russian TV. Kip Forbes, Jennifer Creel and Karen Gross hosted a reception, after the fashion show, where they served Veuve Clicquot and oodles of Petrossian caviar, what else? Guests included Chloe Sevigny, Dr. Kelly Posner, Steve Forbes, Royce Pinkwater, Brad Martin, Ambassador Sergey Lavrov and his wife Maria Lavrov, Muffie Potter Aston, Jason Grant, Sharon Sondes, Patricia Raynes, Anna Kiladze, Amy Rosi, and Renee Rockefeller. Joanne de Guardiola, Philip Bloch, Jacqueline Anderson, Somers Farkas, Jill Roosevelt, Amy Fine Collins, Linda Mansfield, Grace Hightower, Kathy Hilton, Christiaan McPherson, Katie Colgate, and Bettina Zilkha were seen at least contemplating bidding on items in the silent auction to benefit American Friends of the Hermitage Museum. That included a Maggie Norris corset inspired by the Imperial Rosebud Egg by Peter Carl Fabergé valued at $30,000. |
