WEIZMANN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE After 4 Decades Of Service, Gershon Kekst Gets A Dinner HE American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science (ACWIS) honored its devoted supporter of four decades, Gershon Kekst, at a national gala at the Regent Hotel in New York. For nine years Kekst, an eminent corporate and financial communications expert, has been board chairman of the world-renowned institute, based in Rehovot, Israel. Dr. Maxine F. Singer, president for 14 years of the Carnegie Institution of Washington, D.C., was also honored for her leadership as immediate past co-chair of Weizmann’s scientific and academic advisory committee. A corporate award was bestowed upon Motorola for its contributions to Israel’s economic development. Chairman and CEO Christopher B. Galvin represented the company. CNN’s Jeff Greenfield was emcee and Secretary General of the United Nations Kofi A. Annan was keynote speaker. Gala chairs were Lester Crown of Chicago and Helen and Martin S. Kimmel of New York. |
