GRANITA Stars Come Out to Celebrate Wolfgang Puck in Malibu Story and Photos by Polly Van Raalte ONGRATULATIONS to chef extraordinaire Wolfgang Puck and his beautiful designer wife Barbara Lazaroff (originally from New York). Your fantastic Granita restaurant is 10 years old. I love attending the birthday bash in Malibu. So many of the couple’s friends came to salute this wonderful restaurant. Mary Ann Mobley and husband Gary Collins had a terrific time. You must remember May Ann as Miss America 1959. She hailed from Mississippi. Gary was host of the Miss America Pageant for several years. I enjoyed chatting with Mary Ann about Wolfgang’s celebrity restaurant, Spago’s, in Beverly Hills. Everyone had a chance to sample Wolfgang’s signature dishes as well as the yummy desserts created by talented chef Jennifer Naylor. I adored the salmon pizza and lamb. The evening included a jazz band performance – with Hal Linden on clarinet! I told him how much I hoped he’d be back on Broadway where he belongs. All had not really changed in ten years. Wolfgang looked younger, Barbara was still designing, and I loved wearing lace. |
