Celebs Become Angels
As Rich Fights Cancer

THE
G&P Foundation for Cancer Research held its Angel Ball at
Manhattan’s Marriott Marquis where Queen Noor of Jordan, Sir Paul
McCartney and former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev were honored.
Songwriter Denise Rich and her son-in-law, Philip Aouad,
founded the organization in 1966 in memory of her daughter, Gabrielle
Rich Aouad, who died at age 27 from AML Leukemia.
Pres. Bill Clinton was
honorary chairman of the event. Larry King emceed a star-studded program
that included Marc Antony, *NSYNC, Natalie Cole, Patti LaBelle,
Shedaisy and Lillias White.
Among
the celebrity guests were Robert
DeNiro, Goldie Hawn, Hillary Clinton, Drew Barrymore, Lenny Kravitz,
Julianne Moore, Alec Baldwin, Kim Basinger, Naomi Campbell, Lorraine
Bracco, Jessye Norman and Ivana Trump.
