FTER helping to raise a smashing
record of $3.275 million at the 92 Street Y spring gala,
Fredric Mack announced, "My third year as chairman of the Y
is sadly coming to an end."
Who can match his accomplishments?
Tom Kaplan happily reported that
the 2012 gala attracted the largest number of vice chairs ever.
He was proud of his accomplishments in seven years as president
of the Y, during which he welcomed such luminaries as Shimon
Peres, James Earl Jones, Woody Allen and Diane Keaton.

A parade of star power was listed on a
roster of standout supporters of the venerable East Side
institution. Among the Beautiful People are Ingeborg and
Ira Leon Rennert, Julie and William Macklowe, Cheryl
and Philip Milstein, Leni and Peter May, Donny
Deutsch, Allison and Howard Lutnick, Lizzie and
Jonathan Tisch, Seymour W. Zises plus so many more.
Matthew Bronfman, a former
president and currently chair of the program committee, stepped
up to the mike with wife Stacey Bronfman who said, "When
I married Matthew, I knew I was acquiring six step-children. I
did not know I was acquiring the 92 Street Y as well."
She said they celebrated their son’s
bris right here on stage. "It’s a full-service
institution."
