SEEDS OF PEACE
Boldfacers At Benefit For Conflict Resolution
STORY BY NINA BOXER PHOTOS BY TIM BOXER
ORE than 1,000 guests – the
majority being singles – attended the seventh annual peace
market of Seeds of Peace at the Metropolitan Pavilion in
Manhattan. They partied to support an organization that seeks to
empower a younger generation to resolve disputes in various
regions of the world, including the Israel/Palestine conflict.
Among the boldface names we spotted
were Ashley Bush, daughter of Neil Bush and granddaughter
of George H. W. Bush; Vasuki Sunkavalli of India,
Miss Universe 2011; Jaime Cepero of the NBC series
Smash; fashion designer Steven Alan; comedian
David Cross of the Fox series Arrested Development
and his fiancée, Amber Tamblyn of the film Sisterhood
of the Traveling Pants and TV series House.
There were tons of delectables from a
variety of restaurants and shops, including Fairway, Dylan’s
Candy Bar, Nassau Candy and Pranna. High profile chefs judged a
hummus taste-off. Some of the eager young singles in the crowd
seemed more interested in each other than the vast array of
food.
